INA, Ill. (June 4, 2024) - The NRA Foundation once again awarded a grant to supply ammo for the Rend Lake College Warriors Trapshooting team. NRA Foundation grants are raised by volunteer committees from across the country. They support educational and public service programs relating to the shooting sports in U.S. communities. The general focus of NRA Foundation grants is to promote, advance and encourage firearms, shooting sports and hunting safety; educate individuals with respect to firearms, firearms history, participation in the shooting sports, hunting safety, and marksmanship; and conduct research in furtherance of improved firearms safety and marksmanship facilities and techniques. More than $473 million has been awarded in grants since 1990. RLC’s trap and skeet team has been the recipient of this grant since the team was founded in 2019. Coached by Doc Lynch, its members are Jayce Wellen (Dahlgren), Ryleigh Richelman (Campbell Hill), Isaiah Bassinger (McLeansboro), Dalton Thomas (Springerton), Derek Sample (Sesser), Garin Winemiller (Dahlgren), Richard Bassinger (McLeansboro), Gabe Casteel (Thompsonville), and Braden Clem (Thompsonville).
