INA, Ill. (May 2, 2025) — The Athletic department has named Jaden Smith, from Men’s Golf, our April Student Athlete of the Month. The Freshman from Waterloo, IL has had quite the outing this past month. Smith had a 6th place finish in the John A Logan Spring Invitational at Kokopelli including a 2 under par first round score of 69 to highlight his best tournament of the season.

“Jaden has been a consistent top 2 player for our team all year. It is always impressive when a player breaks 70 in a tournament round," said men's golf Head Coach Corey Phillips. "I look forward to seeing what his sophomore season has in store. His future is bright on and off the golf course.”

The student athlete of the month is given each month to recognize our athletes on and off the field. The winner’s picture will be on display at the entrance of the REC and outside the athletic offices in the gym.
