INA, Ill. (May 23, 2024) – Warrior Golf sophomore Eric Hernandez was recently named as one of only eight players to the 2024 NJCAA DII Ping All-Region team for the Central Region. This prestigious recognition is voted on by the Golf Coaches Association of America and sponsored by Ping Golf.

"Eric's performance and consistency improved daily during his time at RLC," says Warriors Head Coach and GCAA Member Corey Phillips. "Eric did the work in the classroom as well and earned his associate degree from RLC a few weeks back. I couldn't be more proud of Eric's accomplishments in the classroom and on the golf course. He was, by far, the hardest worker we had over these past two years and he deserves all the good things ahead of him in life on and off the golf course."

Hernandez, an engineering major from Kissimmee, Fla. (St. Cloud High School) played varsity golf all four years of high school and won the Orange Belt Conference title by five strokes at the age of 15. In his sophomore season at RLC, he finished 11th at the NJCAA DII Central District / Region XXIV Championship — just outside of the top 10 needed to qualify for the national championship tournament.

His 2023-24 results:

Tournament Place Score
Highland 36 21st +11
ICC Cougar Fall Classic 20th +12
