Warriors Off to Good Start in Fall Campaign

INA,IL - September 8, 2023 - The Warriors head into the 2023-24 season with high expectations after an up and down season last year under first year head coach Chris Moddelmog.  "Our guys bought in from day one last year and played hard all the way to the Region tournament.  We really feel like the guys coming in this Fall and we want to build off of last year's late season success and take the next step in the building of our program," said head coach Chris Moddelmog.

A few Freshman have been standouts this Fall so far and the coaching staff is looking for big things out of these guys and the rest of the newcomers.  Hitters Drew Bradley, Colin McClure and Hayden Ralls are off to a great start in the early Fall season.  Bradley, a Catcher/1B, McClure a SS and Ralls, a super utility guy are all off to good starts for the Warriors in the field and at the plate.  "These guys have really put together some good practices and are making an impact on the field for us this Fall," said coach Chris Moddelmog.  "We have some big holes to fill at the plate, having lost a lot of our position guys.  These three along with a host of other guys are making a push to get on the field early for the Warriors this Spring."

On the mound a few rookies have been very good as well, with Freshmen Pierce Herrenbruck, Chase Rubenacker, James Cravens, and Davis Beale have left an early impression on the Warrior coaching staff.  "We have a pretty veteran pitching staff this year and these young guys have come in and are competing for innings.  The competition on the mound will only make us better in the Spring," said pitching coach Ted Bergquist. "We have some really good leadership from our Sophomore class on the mound and the rookies have followed their lead and it is showing."
