INA, Ill. (April 28, 2020) — The Lady Warriors added a big hitter to their lineup with the signing of Alexis Turner of Johnston City.

Turner was a team leader in kills for Johnston City High School as a senior. She looks to bring some of that power to the frontcourt for Rend Lake College this coming fall.

“What Alexis brings to our team is her amazing athletic ability to play above the net. She is capable of playing any position in the front row,” said RLC Head Volleyball Coach Reggie Bateman. “Turner will provide a big swing on offense and sets up a big block as well.”

Turner joins a recruiting class with Ashley Jarrett or Murphysboro, Paige Hand of Marrisa-Coulterville, Bianca Hudson of Herrin, and Abby Wesselmann of Nashville, Ill. All five athletes were named to the Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South Volleyball Team last year. Rend Lake College finished the 2019 campaign at 13-20 with seven freshmen and three sophomores on the roster.
